「お・も・て・な・し」は2020年東京オリンピックへのプレゼンテーションに日本人の心を代表する言葉として伝えられ、2013年の流行語大賞にもなった。
But、なんだか受け入れる側（日本）からの「上から目線」をちょっと感じなくもない。さらに観光業界などがこの語を使えば使うほど、「優しくするから金くれよ」と感じられて仕方がない。「おもてなし」がそんな本心を隠す意味での「表なし」でないことを祈りたい。
