蟻と蜂はよく似ている。蟻はアシナガ蜂やすずめ蜂から分岐したもので、これらとは蜜蜂、マルハナバチなどよりも近いのだそうだ（ちなみにシロアリはゴキブリの仲間）。

蟻の女王なら、栄光か死あるのみ。挫折から這い上がるなんてことはないようだ。日本なら10〜20年が女王の寿命だが、世界では50〜100年になる種もあるらしい。「蟻のままに」で、正解なのかも知れない。
