The end of the exhibition and the end of the art exhibition

Venue scenery

The group exhibition “Living in the Landscape VIII” at Galerie Shimon in Ginza ended on the 16th.。Under Corona、Thank you to everyone who took the trouble to come.。Take the trouble to call me、Those who sent postcards etc.、thank you。

During the exhibition period、Niki Exhibition at the National Art Center, Tokyo in Roppongi、Independent exhibitions and solo exhibitions introduced in the previous article, etc.、some solo exhibitions、I also visited group exhibitions.。Everyone is trying their best。Huge amount of energy poured into it、amount of material、funds。and many sacrifices of all kinds。And the small amount of self-satisfaction that I get、like a blessing、Private admiration with almost no social skills。Is there a more appropriate word than “healthy”?。

“In my personal art history,、"The history of art has already ended," he wrote long ago.。I confirmed that again。This does not mean that everyone will stop drawing.。On the contrary, in 10 years it will be easier to draw.、I think everyone draws to kill time.。It's finished、``I have nothing more to add,'' that is.、In terms of art history, it means that we have reached the end of the book.、(at least in the modern Japanese style) art exhibition format。

At the very least, contemporary Japanese art exhibitions require personal sacrifice (rather than burden).、It's so big that I dare to call it a "sacrifice."。Japan's unique group exhibition system、It is a methodology to reduce the amount of sacrifice by dividing it by the number of people.、There are also art tenement houses where artists live by licking each other's wounds.。Artists can freely create what they want、Too far from the ideal of freely publishing。Be prepared to deviate from society by becoming a writer、You need to be prepared to commit social suicide.、It is no exaggeration to say that。Even the family is involved、I only look at people who were lucky enough to become popular writers.、It is an anachronism to think that sacrificial spirit is cool.、It is consistent with the climate of similar social oppression (for example, the social status of women) that imposes this。

Now we have the internet。The delusion that the Internet will solve these problems all at once is、Even though I admit to being a delusional person, I don't think so.、I already have the power to alleviate at least some of that.。The rigors of creation (effort) and physical、should not be confused with social sacrifice。The rigor of creation、This is because I think that I can only overcome it from a place where I can be liberated.。

Yasuo Ishimaru Solo Exhibition

Yasuo Ishimaru Exhibition Venue 12Oct.2021 Gallery Natsuka 10/11~10/16

10/12(Tue) Cloudy and then rain。Get out of the gallery where our group exhibition is being held early.、I decided to go home after seeing Yasuo Ishimaru's solo exhibition at "Gallery Natsuka" in Kyobashi.。

Mr. Ishimaru is from Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.。There is a remote island called Otsushima off the coast of Shunan City.。There is an underwater suicide weapon used by the Japanese army during the Pacific War.、There was a training base for the human torpedo "Kaiten"。This comes from the peculiarity of the base, where the main structures are under water.、Hydrophilicity between the sea (water) and concrete、An image of the rust on the reinforcing steel seeping out。That is the motif for the work.、I heard it from the person himself a long time ago.。

Before becoming a member of the Kokugakai、A thick block up to 30cm thick、Add delicate unevenness、Let the pale blue water flow and stop it、An expression that gradually deepens the color by flowing and holding it.、There was a time when it was subtitled ``From Otsushima.''。I was also a weapons enthusiast when I was a child.、That subtitle caught my attention.。And I imagined an older writer appropriate for that age group.、Mr. Ishimaru is a much younger writer than me.。My hair is still black、It's bushy。Since then, I have been working with Mr. Ishimaru.、What kind of philosophy does this relate to?、How to shape the uniqueness of a motif、I watched it with interest。His expressions are sincere to their origins, neither heavy nor light.、and the sensibilities of young people living today.、It seems like it's coming together in a cool way.。

Upon entering the exhibition hall、The inside of a structure (like a temple) partially submerged in shallow water、draw on marble walls and floors、I felt like I was watching an eternal play of waves and light.。That shallow water feeling、Ever since I became aware of his work、Will never change。when I asked、I was the only audience member because of the rain.。His paintings are quiet paintings.。Soak your body in the summer sea、Feels like you're swimming while swimming。What kind of music do you listen to while creating?、I thought so, but I forgot to ask.。

Interesting picture

Masayuki Yamoto “Hall” 2021 Action Exhibition

A painting by Mr. Yamoto, who belongs to the Behavioral Art Association.、at least 10 years、I look at it with interest and respect.。This is Mr. Yamoto's work that was announced at the Behavior Exhibition in September 2021.。I would like to meet you once、I haven't met you yet。

at first glance、This person is probably a painter who has strong sympathies with Hieronymus Bosch and Brueghel.、I think everyone feels that。One is its color。The other thing is my preference for how to break the shape.。It seems like there are many painters who match these two things.、In fact, there are surprisingly few、It will be narrowed down to Bosch and Brueghel style painters.。

But、It doesn't matter.。What I feel from this picture is、It's a real message that "the world is tough"。concentric circles、The composition, with its concave center, resembles a gear.、Accurate and ruthless” symbolizes the real situation.。It's like a schematization of "slavery"、It seems to me。

While imagining such a not-so-fun situation.、Drawn by the stoic beauty of the colors、If you take a step or two closer to the painting,、There are probably hundreds of characters.、Each one of them was very lazy (sometimes their pants had even slipped down).、Doing a self-deprecating pose。Do you see this as “(subtly stolen) freedom”?、Whether you see it as “freedom (in resignation)” is up to you.、Considering the color and other overall composition、American、I think the optimistic sense of freedom is completely eliminated.。To “You who think you are free”、Your freedom might actually be like this、Is that still okay?、I also feel that this is a painting that forces us to ask ourselves this question.。
