とりあえずCGで描いて、油彩・水彩のそれぞれの絵の具に合った手順とか注意すべき点などを事前に探るための「試作（習作）」。たいてい水彩のほうが難しい（だから、小、中学生には「水彩でなく油彩で、かつ大きめのキャンバス」で絵を描かせた方がいいと、わたしはずっと思っている）。

たとえば光の反射した白い部分をどうするか。油絵具の場合は迷うことなく上から白を乗せる。For watercolor、①白い絵の具を塗る　②細い筆で絵の具を洗い落とす　③水彩色鉛筆など併用する　など、いくつか選択肢があり、作者の好みや得意不得意がそこに関わってくる、etc.etc…これはCGだから、簡単にテストできるけど、実際の絵の具や紙で描くと、試作だけでかなり時間かかるので誰もやりたがらない。今のところ CGは試作だけ。最終的に作品にしないといけないが、CGばかりやってると、実材の感触忘れそうになる。
