漁港スケッチは千葉県の最南端野島崎から九十九里まで車で移動しながらスケッチしたときのもの。何回かに分けて、何日もスケッチしていました。それを参考に、あらためて描いてみたものです。場所は和田のあたりだったかな。
夕方だったと思います。もうすぐ日が落ちるという時刻だったかな。動画ではそういう時刻感を表現せず（絵が暗くなってしまうから）、画面本位、色彩本位のスケッチにしました。

Becoming a freelancer is certainly an option, but、in many cases、I strongly feel that these are people who have no choice but to do so.。Not so long ago in Japan, people were considered "outcasts," "misfits," or "rebels."、People who could sometimes be subject to “exclusion”。The reason why freelancing seems kind of cool these days is due to the power of "culture."。I want the era where misfits can live together forever to continue.、I want the strength to sustain it。On the other hand, an intolerant society is spreading around us.、It's creepy that more and more people don't seem to notice this.。

「人物画」と言えば「肖像画」と一瞬思うけれど、風景や室内に複数の人間がいるような絵も「人物画」に入れていいだろう。たとえばピカソの青青の時代の人物画や、バラ色の時代のそれなどは、少なくとも肖像画ではないけれど、主題は同じく「人間」だ。

by the way、（日本ではあまり多くないが西欧ではむしろメインな）「歴史画」というジャンルもある。人間が歴史を作っているのだから、歴史画と言われるものの多くが「人物画」だ。多くの人が知っている、ナポレオンが馬にまたがって「アルプスを越えよ」と右手を掲げて指している絵などがそれにあたる。By the way、わたしはロシアの画家レーピンの「イワン雷帝」などが歴史画としては好きである（上の写真）。
うっかりしていたが、「自画像」というカテゴリーもある。こちらではレンブラントの名前くらいは覚えておこうね。たとえ絵は忘れてしまっても。
人物画が好きか嫌いかはべつとして、興味のない人はいないはずである。多くの学者の研究によると、人間は人の顔を詳しく見るように脳を進化させてきたのだそうだ。微妙な表情一つで感情やさまざまな考えさえ伝える“人間の顔”。教室でも制作に全員苦労しているが、それだけごまかしが利かず（作者自身にとっても）、高い表現技術が求められるということなのだろう。「風景」と「人間」は芸術の２大テーマである。どこをどう考えても結局この二つに関わらざるを得ない。いまさらだが、もう少し素直にこのテーマに向き合ってみようと思う。
