CGだから、うまく描けるということはある。first、「覆水を盆に返せる」。一度こぼした水はもとに戻すことができないという、文化人類学上数千年の「常識」をひっくり返して、失敗した線や色を簡単に完ぺきに消すことができる。いったん消した線を、数日（年でも）後完ぺきに復活することなど「常識」だ。他にもいろいろ有利な点はある。But、根本的にデッサンができない人が CGならデッサンができるようになる、という「魔法」はない。デッサン力は単なる描写力ではなく、観察力などを広く含む「総合力」だからである。絵は写真を下敷きに描けばデッサンが正確だとか、そういう次元で済むものではないのである。

But、たぶんCGで描く意味はそういう次元にとどまらない。描いている自分自身でさえ気づかないところに、より大きな意味があるだろうと感じるが、それが何かは今のところ自分でも判らない。1年前はCGで描くのが面倒で億劫。スケッチブックに描く方が（慣れているぶん）何倍も効率が良かった。Nevertheless、今は完全にiPadがスケッチブック代わり。iPadに限らないが油絵や水彩同様、CGであろうと描き方、塗り方の順序を変えると難しくなったり、簡単になったりするから、時々実際に自分の「手」で描いているような錯覚に陥る。それが生きている感覚に与える影響は些細に見えて、たぶん「小さくない」。

「CGの方が良い」と受け取ってはいけない。実作の大きな利点は「失敗する」こと。CGでの失敗は、数秒でリカバリーできる。But、実作ではそうはいかない。失敗することで、脳だけでなく全身が活性化する。そこが「魅力」だと解るようになったのはＣＧスケッチの効果だ、It is a sport that is firmly connected to the essence of current sports.。人が「失敗から学ぶ動物」ならば、「失敗しないＣＧ」はわたしたちを退化させる“絶好の道具”になるかも知れないですね（CGそのものはまったく否定していませんよ。Just in case)。
