解除について心配なことがある。せっかくオンラインでの（一部）授業が、可能なだけでなく寧ろ有効だということが、サッと忘れ去られるのではないかということ。オンラインでの（一部）会社経営が成り立つこと、出勤しない方が効率よく仕事できること等に、会社員自身が気づいたこと。それが「解除」によって以前の状態に戻る。そちらの方がむしろ問題ではないか？なんとなく、すべての文化的尺度で世界上位にいると錯覚していた日本人が、実はオンラインという視点では「先進国中ではずっと下だ」、という事実を「見なかったことに」してしまうこと。それらが心配だ。（感染症対策、重傷者の医療体制はまた別の次元の問題として）「オンライン」に関しては、もうオールド・エコノミストたちと同じ地面にいつまでも立つ意味はないのではないか、と考えさせてくれた私の「オンライン体験」です。

But、決断が早いことと結果がいいこととは同じではない。「結果が同じなら、決断が早い方がいいじゃないか」という言い方をする人が結構いる。「結果が同じなら」という前提を勝手に置くずるい言い方だが、そもそも「同じ結果」などどうやって判定するのか、そこまでの思考回路の欠落した物言いだ。「どんなことがあってもへこたれない」、人間というより機械ではないか？「ブレない意志」。確かに隣の頑固親父も、自分の誤りなど絶対に認めないブレの無さだ。「前を向く」と言えば、第二次大戦で日本軍は常に前ばかり向き、決して後ろを見ない精神を強調した。撤退を「転進」と言い換えるようなセコい考え方で、何万人もの若い兵士達を犬死させたのではなかったか。それが今でもプラスイメージなのはどうしてなのだろうか。

「根性」とかいう言葉が私は大嫌いだが、あえて言えば「根性」を振り回す奴ほど「根性」が無いからだろうと思っている。物事には「根性」などで切り抜けることのできないものが山ほどある。その原因やプロセス、結果の予測など、じっくり、ネチネチと考えなければ可能なものも可能にならないことが山ほどある。その思考プロセスの長さ、緻密な思考過程に耐えられず「えいっ、いちかばちかだ」と一切を放棄してしまう。それはいさぎよいなどというものではなく、単なるバカだ。そのバカさを隠すために、威勢よく「根性」などと口走るのだ、と思っている。ある人曰く、「決断できないことが人間だけにできる思考です」だそうだ。but、よくよく考えてみると、少なくとも3分の1くらいは私もバカの仲間のようである。
