リハビリのつもりで、おばチャリ自転車（買い物用）で関宿城まで行く。往復でも20㎞以下だから、まあちょうど良い距離。一時間半くらいかかる。私なりには一生懸命だが鍛えられたランナー等には全然敵わない。土手道で、明らかに私より年長だと思われる「自転車おばあ」（敬意と羨望の混じった私的敬語）も「すいませーん」とか言って私の脇を軽く抜いて行く。「オレの自転車は買い物用だからな」と言い訳しながら「おばあ」のお尻を一生懸命追いかけるが遠ざかるばかり。

汗びっしょりで関宿城に着くころ、既に休息と優雅なデザートを終えた「自転車おばあ」がカッコいいサングラスを着けて私とすれ違う。クヤシー！などと悶えないことにしている。おばあが元気な時代なのだ。

関宿城のすぐ脇に水門がある。ここ（江戸川）の水流を見るとおばあに負けた傷心が癒される。自宅前の川のチマチマした水量に比べ、ある意味でさすが江戸を潤した水量は違う。ゆったりというか、たっぷりというか、ウーンというか。その水量を（うれしく思いながら）とりあえず描いてみた。
