オジギソウ

すっかりうなだれて、死にかけた植物だ…と思うのは早計。とても健康的に、夕方５時半、もう眠っているのです。可愛いですね。

名前はオジギソウ。朝は早くから、まずシャキンと腰を伸ばす（今はガックリと腰から折れていますが）。それから手のひらを太陽に向け、手の指を一本ずつ開くように、葉の、ギザギザの指のような切れ込みを、いっぱいに開くんです。その手のひらを指ですーっと触ると、くすぐったそうに葉をシュルシュルシュルと閉じる。外出から帰ったとき、玄関前にポカーンと葉を開いているのを見ると、ちょっといたずらしたくなる。すーっと触ると、シュルシュルシュルと閉じるのがとても可愛い。最近とっておきの、私の「癒し」（秘密）。

シュルシュル…の反応が早いほど健康、と自分勝手に考えている。実家には高さ3mほどの合歓の木（ネムノキ）がある。ネムノキもオジギソウと似た反応をすることで知られているが、反応はどうだったか覚えていない。葉っぱの感じもよく似ている。

アトリエの窓辺にも、たくさんの小さな植物たちが生きている。一昨日はサボテンの大きな白い花も咲いた。別のサボテンの小さな花も咲きかけているし、ふちょっちょの木の、大きい真っ赤な花も咲いている。癒してくれるものはたくさんあるのに、なぜか癒されない気持ちも、毎日膨らんでくるのはどうしてなんだろう。
