仕上がりまでの3割くらいまで進んできた。途中で気にかかっていたのは、「こんな面倒くさいことしなくても、もっと簡潔で効果的な方法があったのではないか」ということ。手間を惜しむわけではないが、まわりくどい方法は時間の浪費ばかりではなく、画面を汚し、狙い通りの効果を生み出せないことにつながる。「簡潔」が絶対にいいのである。

反射神経だな、それは—必要な時に、タイミングよくピッタリのやり方を選択する「勘」のようなもの。

年を取ってくると、直感的な閃きが薄くなり、それをじっくりと計画を練り上げることでカバーするようになる（なってきた）。これは反射神経が鈍くなってきたということではないか…描いていて、Suddenly、そう思い当たった。

じっくりと練り上げる方法が悪いわけではもちろんない。浅はかな思いつきだけでイメージにとびつくより、よほど結果は安定する。野球選手の打率ふうにいうと、「思いつき」の打率が1割なら、「練り上げ」は3割弱というところか。打率1割台ならレギュラーは難しいが、3割なら堂々のクリーンアップである。普通の仕事なら間違いなく「練り上げ」の方が良い。でもアートではどうなんだろう。打率1割でも、その一本が心に残る魅力的な一本というのが、アートの本質なんじゃないだろうか。反射神経を研ぎ澄ますにはそのための鍛錬が欠かせない。やばいぜ。

アジサイの葉（CG）

画像が見えにくい・・・。申し訳ないのですが、今のところここまでが精一杯。少しだけ我慢してもらえると、だんだんにうっすらと葉っぱらしきものが（浮かび上がってくるといいのですが）。もともと黒い背景に暗い色のアジサイを描くというコンセプトですが、画面表示すると思ったより暗い。描いている手もとではもちろんずっと明るいのですが。

ここまではまだ仕上がり予定の1割にも達していません、ここに表示したのは葉っぱの部分だけで、花の部分はこれから。薄く、軽く描いているように見えるかもしれませんが、今回は描きこみにこれまでより格段の時間がかかっています。すでに2日目ですが、まだ相当な時間が必要です。手描きの方がずっと早いのですが、あえてCG（コンピュータグラフィックス）で描こうと思っています。

仕上がりまでしばらく時間がかかりそうなので、時々部分的に見せたいと考えています。わたしにとっても、ひとつの挑戦です。

鳥の耳は目立たない。Apparently, the questioner thinks that "the concrete result of sketching" brings fun.、羽毛を搔き分けてみると、ヒトの耳とほぼ同じように頭側にぽっかりと穴が開いている。ミミズクというフクロウの仲間は、鳥の中では例外的に耳が外に突き出している。それがミミズクという名の由来になっているのだが、眼よりも音を頼りに獲物の位置やサイズなどを判断する生活様式から考えると、空気抵抗を割り引いてもそれなりの合理性があるだろう。—いずれにせよ、動物の行動様式や生態を考えれば、それらの耳のかたちの成り立ちが、それなりに納得できるような気がする。

Nevertheless、ヒトの耳はどうしてこのようなかたちなのか。勾玉（まがたま）に6というアラビア数字（我々が日々最もお世話になっている数字）を二重に掘り出したようなかたち（漫画の神様、手塚治虫の登場人物の耳）に、どんな合理性があるのだろうか。人物スケッチをするたびに感じる、長年の「不思議」である。
