趣味や芸術のことについて、一つのこと・ものにこだわることが大事だとも、もろ刃の剣だともよく云われる。こだわる、とは簡単に放り投げず、いろんな角度から試行するうちに発見があるという意味であろうし、もろ刃の剣とはそれがいつのまにか執着にかわり、柔軟な見方ができなくなるということだろう。
私たちにできることは、その直感、感覚をどこまで信じるか、だろう。根拠は示せなくても、きっと自分の全身を使って計算しているはず。
