Langton紙にアキーラの作例。数種類の紙を試しているが、発色など水彩絵の具より大きな違いができることが解ってきた。発色も、同じ水溶性といっても、水彩絵の具とは全く別種のものだと考える方が良さそうだ。
水溶性絵の具は、薄めて使えば皆似たようなものだと（確かにそうとも言えるが）甘く考えていた。絵の具の中の糊の分量にも秘密がありそうで、これを自分なりに調節してやれば、テクニカルな領域はかなり拡大できるはず、と目標を定めた。
