今日（2013.3.6水曜日）、近くのホームセンターへ寄った。駐車スペースにバックし始めたら急にスピードが出始めた。背後のスペースにも車がある。危ないと思ってブレーキを踏んだが、まったく止まらないどころか、むしろ急にスピードアップした。「ブレーキの故障だ！いや、間違ってアクセルを踏んだか？ぶつかる！！」
何のことはない、隣の車が発進、前進したので相対的にバックのスピードが増したという錯覚だった。たまに並行して走る電車の相対速度によって、進行方向が右へ行ったり、左へ行ったりと感じたりする、アレである。そういう錯覚は若い人にはほとんど無いのだそうだ、Unfortunately。
