西日本豪雨災害での、ボランティアのニュースをラジオで毎日聞く。ボランティアの方も熱中症になったり、豪雨の去った後の猛暑とは神も酷い。被災地の方々はそれに加えて喪失感、physical strength、気力の限界に近い、四重苦、 五重苦に喘いでいるに違いない。未だに行方不明のままの人もいる。

But、地元や連携する自治体、ボランティアなどの手で、インフラや市民生活への秩序が急速に整いつつあると聞くのは嬉しい。

「情けは人の為ならず」いつかは自分たちも、こうしたボランティアの世話になることもある得る。that's why、isn't it、自然な心の為せる行動なのだろう。But、誰でもボランティアに行けるわけでもない。人は繋がっている。自分自身の健康を守ることも、より必要とする人にボランティアの助けを振り向ける力になっている。若い人は、いま一生懸命勉強することも、直接のボランティアに劣らない、大きな意味を持つ日が必ず来る。
