顔　Face as a Leader

ここ数日、アメリカ大統領選挙の関連でメディアに露出するカマラ・ハリス氏の顔を見ていると、候補者というより、もうすっかり「大統領の顔」になっている、と感じる。おそらく、もうトランプ氏は勝てないだろう。

トランプ氏の顔が大統領に見えてこないからである。「確トラ」が「もしトラ」に戻ってしまった。バイデン氏と並んでメディアに表示されていた時は、バイデン氏の方が「錆ついて」見えたが、形勢は変わったように見える。

メディアでの露出を見ているだけだから、実態など分からない。But、ABCとかCNNその他BBCなど日本でも普通に見られるし、逆に考えると、アメリカの多くの人々だって実際に彼らの顔を見ることなどほとんどないだろうから、sourceは似たり寄ったりではないだろうか。that's why、どちらの顔が大統領に見えるか、という意識は軽くないと思う。

By the way、次の日本の総理大臣はどんな顔かと考えると、相応しい顔が全く浮かんでこない。候補と噂される方々の顔を思い浮かべても、いずれにも不快な印象しか持つことができない。演説一つとっても、どうして日本の政治家は、名手と言われるオバマ元大統領ほどでなくても、ハリス氏程度の演説ができないのだろうか。演説の顔が、政治家の表の顔であるはずなのに。

YouTubeで「動物の骨格」などを眺めているうちに、ふとした拍子に「美容整形手術」のビデオを見てしまった。その流れで、さらに「性転換手術」体験者の（手術前後）ビデオまでつい見てしまった。なぜそうしなければならないのか、手術してもなお自殺まで追い込まれる現実などを考えると、相当種衝撃的な時間。それを笑いの中で見せてくれるなんて。

その数日後の7月10日、トランスジェンダーの女性が、手術なしで戸籍上の性別変更を認めるよう求めた家事審判で、広島高裁が必要な要件を満たすと決定した、というニュースがあった。この審理では特に相手のある訴訟ではないので、これで結審。申立人の主張は認められた。

ちょっと調べてみると、性別変更には現状５つの要件が必要だという。①2人以上の医師から性同一性障害の診断を受けていること　②18歳以上　③現在結婚していないこと、未成年の子どもがいないこと　④生殖腺や生殖機能がないこと　⑤変更後の性別の性器に似た外観を備えていること、の５つ。このうち④と⑤を手術要件（⑤は外観要件ともいい、必ずしも手術によらなくてもよいが、これまでは多くの場合④と同時に性器整形の手術をする）というらしい。上の「性転換手術」は④と⑤に対応するための手術。
　7月10日の広島高裁での審理は、実は最高裁からの差し戻し審で、特に④の要件自体が2023年10月に最高裁大法廷で憲法違反と判断されていて、今回はこの判断を踏まえたもの。⑤については今回特に判断をしなかったので、今後に問題は残ることになったが、高裁判断では、「周囲が違和感を感じなければよい」と判断されたらしい。

人は欲のために生きている、というのはひとつの見方である。性転換も、広く欲望と言えばそのひとつという言い方もできるが、自分がもっと自分自身になろうとするだけの、むしろもっとも根源的、素朴純粋なものだと思う。少子化云々などという社会的な課題は、国や行政を通じてそれ自体あらためて捉えられるべき問題で、彼女ら（They）自身にその責任の一端を押しつけることは妥当ではない。大きくなったら大谷選手のようになりたい、という子どもの思いに、皆が野球選手になったら誰が他の仕事をするんだ、などとバカげた問いをぶつけてはならないのと同じこと。（長くなって済みません）
