北極の氷の上では黒いヒグマは落ち着かないに違いない。保護色はとりあえず有利だ。暖かで穏やかな気候、豊富な食べ物の色も気持を落ち着かせる色だが、それらは同時に多くの敵を覚悟しなければならない色でもあろう。小さな哺乳類から始まった人類にとって、緑のバリエーションは落ち着く色の候補だろう。
これが美しい色だ、という特定の色があるわけではない。But、その人にとって美しいと感じる色はあっておかしくない。あるいはその時に、という感じ方もあるかも知れない。
そんな色の中に居れば落ち着くか、といえばそれもまた、そうとも言い切れないような気もする。
