満開の桜は外だけではない。見よ、この華麗さを。まさに今が盛り。少し床に散っているが、動かすたびに枝が擦れあって無理やり落としてしまったものがほとんど。花はまだしっかり枝について、絢爛豪華。
somewhere、こっそり枝を折ってきたのではないかとのご心配無用。教室のSさん宅の桜の太い枝が折れ、一部が繋がったまま満開を迎えたのが勿体ないと、そこからさらに２本折り取り、持参してくれたもの。お陰様で毎日が花見（絵を描くのには少し邪魔だが）。
昨日は東武動物公園がチャリティーだけで入園できるというので、妻など動物を見に行った。私も迎えに行きながら、30分ほどホワイトタイガーなど見た。運動不足解消で一石二鳥。It was hot anyway。
動物公園内も、そこへの道沿いも、どこもかしこも満開の桜で溢れている。けれど誰も、飽きたとも、もうウンザリとも言わないのが、桜の桜たるゆえんか。当たり障りのない、日本人的な存在感の薄さと、もうすぐ花吹雪となり、（少なくとも一年間は記憶からも）消えていく儚さが、自分たちに重なって共感するからかもしれない。
