全国的な雪の予報の中、珍しく関東地方全体に大雪注意報なり、警報が出た。埼玉県東部にも大雪警報が発令された（22:20 現在も発令中）。同時に雷注意報、着雪注意報、風雪注意報も出ている。外に出てみると5センチくらいの積雪か。止んだと思ったが、まだ少しは降っているようだ。
雪自体、雪景色は好きだが、仕事や用事には差し支える。何より、こちらの雪はほとんど雨のように、びしょびしょに濡れる。しかも凍って、カパカパになり、家が立て込んでいるのでなかなか溶けない。北国の雪はその量が膨大で、やはり生活の負担ではあるが、パサパサとはたき落とすだけで濡れない雪は、風物詩でもある。濡れる雪には、残念ながらそんな風情は感じない。
