彼女はダブダブのゆるい服装が好きなようだ。スポーツは好き（特にスキー）らしいから、運動するときはそれなりの服装、そういえば一度ゆるいトレパンで来た時があったなあ、やっぱり楽な服装が好きなようだ。

描きやすいモデルさんと、そうでないモデルさんがいるという話を、（昔は）何度か聞いた。わたし自身はヌードも含め、少なくともかたちの上で、描きにくい人がいるとか感じたことはない。一度、黒人のモデルさんを描いたことがある。暗い肌色なので、そこに落ちる陰影と判別できなくて困ったことがある。「描きやすさ」とは、そういうことを言ってたのだろうか。人種差別とかではなく、単純な明暗識別の問題。

「描きにくい」というのとはちょっと違うが、モデルさんはじっと坐っているだけなので、眠くなることがある。特にお昼ご飯のあと。実際上、眠そうなモデルさんは困る。絵も眠ってしまうから。
　そんなとき、ちょっと立ち上がったり、深呼吸などして、眠気覚ましをしていいと、モデルさんには伝えてある。かのセザンヌ大先生は、じっとしていないモデルに腹を立て「リンゴは動かない！」と言ったというエピソードがある。I、モデルさんだって生きている以上、微妙に動く方が自然だと思っているので、そういうことは言わない。ただ「動かないで」と言う。同じですかね？

彼女は動かない。身体の芯がしっかりしているのだろう。
　不思議なことに、外国人のモデル（特に西欧系）のモデルさんはじっとしていることが（日本人のようには）できないようだ。日本人なら、ただ坐っているだけの楽なポーズをとらせても、10分もしないうちにギブアップのアピールをする。
　反面、ダンスのような繰り返しの動きはとても気持いいらしい。日本人はむしろそんなふうに動き続ける方が逆に苦痛らしい（何度か同じ動作を繰り返してもらったことがある）。筋肉か何かが違うんでしょうかね。
