蟹を描くのは難しい。生きているのを見ることがなかなか難しいからだ。海底の砂の上にいるという想像で描いてみるけれど、そもそも脚がこんなふうに伸びていては歩けるはずもない。腹が砂に接触しているはずもない。

蟹と言えば、わたしたちは食べ物だと思っている。But、もし海の中で巨大な蟹に遭遇したら、このハサミはかなり恐ろしい、凶器のように見えるに違いない。But ok、たぶん襲ってはこない。横にしか進めない奴が、素早く動く相手を捕まえられるのは無理だろう。蟹は海の掃除屋、死んだ魚とか貝とか、大体そんなものを食べている。もちろん獲物が動けなければ、生きていても食べるとは思うけれど。
