明後日、8月2日から埼玉県も非常事態宣言下となるわけだが、7月30日からそれまでの3日間はどういう意味をもっているのか理解できる人がいるのだろうか。その間に旅行でもしておけ、と受け取る人がいても不思議ではないちぐはぐぶりである。

開閉会式のショーディレクターの、かつてホロコーストを揶揄した経緯による開会式前日の解任など、もしも近・現代史を学んでいればあり得なかったであろうその幼稚さは、この国がどんな国になろうとしているかという哲学の欠如が結んだ、不幸な焦点だといえよう。皮肉にも、そのことをやっと国民に納得させたことが、菅政権によるオリンピックの、唯一の成果であり、意義となるのかもしれない。
