絵画やデザインといわず、「視覚表現」と枠を少し広げて考える。「いや、芸術はただの視覚表現ではない」という意見はここでは措いておこう。視覚表現の基本要素は「線」「かたち」「色」である（「点」は線に含み、「かたち」は「面」を含む）。素材感（テクスチャ）もひとつの要素として分けてもいいが、ここでは「面」の中に粗い面、すべすべした面などの触覚的要素がある、と解釈しておく。this、「線」「かたち」「色」をどう使って「知的・感覚的・詩的」な視覚表現をするか。いま現在のわたしにとっては、絵とデザインの違いなどより興味深く、面白く感じています。

30秒のコマ送り動画で、動画撮影用にセットしたマイ・カメラのCGスケッチ。実際にかかった時間は2時間弱。意外に時間かかりました。スケッチブックに鉛筆＋ペンなどで描いた場合と比べ、どちらが早いかは「微妙」。早さを別にすればそれぞれの利点は明らか。CGは他の媒体に利用できるし、スケッチブックなら確実に手もとに在る。

それなりに一生懸命描いているとはいえ、後で見直したときに、ここはもう少し描き込みたいとかあるのが普通だと思う。そんなとき、後からいくらでも描きなおし、加筆可能なのがCGのすごいところ。But、CGで描いたことのない人には、たぶんその「すごさ」がたぶん伝わらない。実際に CGスケッチの体験をしてみるしかないが、それなりに高価でもあるし、パソコンに苦手意識のある人（わたしもだ）には、抵抗感もあることは理解できる。

This sketch is、右側窓からの自然光。スタートは遅く、午後3時ちょうど。ライトは左なので、スケッチを終えるまで点灯できない（光線方向が真逆になる）。夕方の自然光の減衰を考えると、かなり急ぎ目で描かなくてはならない（明日にすればいいだけなのだが）。「日没は6時30分ちょっと前」と頭にタイマーをセットする。

最初の3秒間。「初めは大雑把に全体をくくるんだな」と見て貰えれば嬉しい。
