Shinsuke Fujisawa solo exhibition ②:him as a painter

①Information for solo exhibition:Even the maps are often hand-drawn.
②The visual experience is dynamic because it is not a square screen.

③I color the paper before cutting it.。That's what's amazing about it

Additions to the “Shinsuke Fujisawa Solo Exhibition” introduced the other day。In the last blog, I did not mention ``Shinsuke Fujisawa as a painter'' due to space constraints.、I think it will be very suggestive not only to me but also to many people who draw.、I've felt the need to write about it for some time now.。

①His solo exhibition invitations always look hand-drawn.。Maps are also often hand-drawn.。I receive many invitations for solo exhibitions from many painters.、My job is to draw、From painters who love drawing more than anything.、There are very few cases like this (including when I do it)。"I like drawing pictures.、It's fun.''、This single page clearly shows the most important information in the invitation.。It is a guide to be seen rather than read.、From the first step, it looks like a painting.。

②There are probably no more people who think that painting is something that is painted on a canvas.、Even a picture drawn in the sand on the beach、Even a picture drawn in the air with your fingertips is a picture.、This is a "painting" format that is so obvious that it is natural。But、Leaving that logic aside、this、At first glance, the ``presentation'' looks like ``children's paper cutting''.、Actually, his hidden confidence、I feel like I'm not free。I don't really understand "modern painting"、I think even many painters and critics feel this deep down.、Isn't this simple expression just that?。leave the gallery、When you step out into the city, you can see that.。

③ (If you have literary talent) You should be able to write a novel with this one picture.。His life as a writer so far is packed here (I don't think this is a word that should be taken lightly).。The colors and lines drawn on the frog in the center are、This is done before being cut into the shape of a frog.。In other words、The colors were painted before it was even known whether it would be shaped like a frog or not.、It's a line。Finally cut it、“It has become” like this、The wonder of merging chance and necessity in an instant、It's beyond my imagination。And that is what “painting” is all about.、my chest trembles。

Shinsuke Fujisawa Exhibition:The deep relationship between artists and tools

From the solo exhibition venue
From the exhibited works:See how to cut two pieces of paper
From the exhibited works:Rather than “paper-cutting” to trace the shape.、Cutting and drawing are fused

Does holding a knife change your personality?、What does it mean that your personality changes when you get behind the wheel (drive)?、It sometimes creeps up at the corner of my mouth as a half-joking story.。But、We are always the subject (superior)、Because I was taught that I use things and means (lower level) based on my own will.、At most, it is treated as nothing more than a joke.。

But when I was a child、When I pick up scissors, I feel like cutting anything into small pieces.、I'm sure everyone has had the experience of picking up a shovel and finding potholes all over the place.。I didn't bring out the scissors because I wanted to cut it.、Didn't you feel like digging a (useless) hole just because you had a shovel?。

Many artists (I don't like to call them that)、It also refers to people who never let go of the scissors and shovels they had in their childhood.。Even if it looks like just a tool、I got used to it over the years、If you hone your skills, they will transform into incredible weapons.。Or rather、reveals its true form。That's Fujisawa's cutter.。

Because it is used too much、He naturally becomes a cutter himself.。I'm not thinking of cutting it like this.、Before I knew it, I had already cut it.、That feeling。Otherwise, it would be impossible to create a sharp “shape” with no waste.。Although it is a very mathematical line、Cutting that contains a child-like derailed play somewhere.。He is originally a sculptor、When cutting wood, it becomes the chisel itself.、Sometimes used as a spatula for applying clay。Also a painter、Sometimes it becomes a brush。Also a Cutter、When I'm a poet, I become a cute twig。It seems normal, but it's not normal.。(Shimokitazawa:Gallery HANA)

*Please note that this is ``kirigami'' and not ``cutout''.。
