Production begins

Apple-海を渡る（制作開始）

6月のグループ展へ出品予定の作品（100号）。本来ならとっくに仕上がっていなくてはならないはずなのだが、尻に火が点き、燃え始め、おなかの方まで燻ってきて、やっと腰を上げた。もう尻は真っ黒こげになっているかもしれない。今月末がデッドライン。

テンペラで描き始めた。エッグ・テンペラは鶏卵を糊（接着剤）にして色の粉を中に練り込み、それを画面に定着させる古典的な技法。糊を玉子ではなく膠に置きかえれば日本画になる。つまり日本画と材料的には親戚である。For the time being、モノトーンでイメージを描きだしてみた。

描き始めてみると100号はいかにも小さい。個々のモチーフを画面に配置すると、本当にちっぽけなものになる。少し離れたら見えなくなるのではないかと思うほど。One of these days、細部を描く段階まで進めば画面を広く感じてくるようになるが、今のところはのびのび自由なフィールドだ。もう少しイメージの変化があるかも知れないが、いろいろ検討する時間がない。勢いのままに一気に描いてしまえればいい。

初めは「Apple-ヴィーナス誕生」と仮題をつけてみた。ボッティチェリの同名の有名な作品のパロディをちょっと意識した。波はやや北斎「神奈川沖浪裏」にも似た形象。But、そこまで。それ以降は画面からの要求と作者の主張との綱引きになっていく。それが絵を描くことの楽しみだが、急がなければならないのが残念。

青いカモメの会絵画展案内状

青いカモメの会絵画展が22日(水)から始まる。そのための準備が進行中だが、個人個人の作品準備はどうやら一段落ついた感じがする。still、準備が全然出来ていないのはわたしだけだ、surely。

出品作品を事前に見せてもらっているが、けっこう面白い作品がある。手前みそだが“老齢スクール”（失礼承知ですが、ごめんなさい）としては意欲的で、若々しい作品が多いと思う。please、多くの人に観てもらいたい。

on the other hand、本人または家族に、あちこち不調ができることも年々多くなってくる。年相応、どうしても避けられないことではあるけれど、無理しないでと思うようなときもある。そんななかでも、みんなが絵を描く気力を保っていることは誇らしい。彼、彼女らの絵には日常と非日常が、渾然一体となってきているのを感じる。描くことが特別なことではなく（それなりのプレッシャーはあるにせよ）、日常の一部になりつつあるのを感じる。
　「芸術」がなんだか特別な人々だけの、手の届かぬ世界のことのように思っている人がいまだ大多数に違いないが、そのような行き方では芸術は死んでしまう。Not limited to paintings、芸術家は常に人々が芸術を「日常化してくれること」を切望してきた。表現としては同時代の人々の理解をこえるものであっても、“それでも理解して欲しい”と訴え続けてきたのが、美術史のもう一つの見方だと考えている。芸術はモノにではなく、人間の中に在る。確かに作品は物理的なモノだけれど、それを作る人の、時代と環境を抜きにしては語れない。環境とはそれを支える人のこと。

青いカモメの会絵画展では、いわゆる“正真正銘の芸術作品”はたぶん期待できないかも知れない。But、「青いカモメの絵画教室」ではあえてそれを目標にしてこなかった（チャレンジはおおいに結構）し、青いカモメの会絵画展は「芸術を支える人の芸術展」であることが大事だとも考えている。これまでのツライ「絵画修行」で、絵を描くことの内側を体験、理解してきた。そういう視点を持つこと。それぞれの表現やレベルにもゆっくり造詣を深めてきた。そしてそれがどんなかたちであれ社会に染み出していく。そういう存在になることが大事だし、そうなってきたなあと嬉しく思っている。

Since I declared that I would draw cherry blossoms,、I tried to draw it with all my might.。Apparently, the questioner thinks that "the concrete result of sketching" brings fun.、When I drew it, I thought, ``This is a failure.''。From the very beginning、I had intended to draw it much more horizontally.、It was a “failure” when I made a concentrated composition “to match the sketchbook”。

I don't like to reveal my failures、why did it fail、where is the failure、How can I fix it and lead to the next step?、For the artist, it is better than a “successful” painting.、sometimes it's important。

First, look at this picture objectively.。Then, ① important motifs are too concentrated.、The first thing you'll feel is。Too many elements are packed into a small screen.。The most common mistakes made by beginners、People with decades of experience (that's me!) are doing it.。Embarrassing! ②What's wrong is the backlit cherry blossom branch on the right.。You don't need all of it.。The backlit branch is slightly sticking out from the left side.。That's enough。Everything on the right side is “additional”。Before trying to draw the right branch、That thought crossed my mind, but I said, "Here we go!"。"why、I won't reveal the details here, but。

There are many other details that go wrong though.、I guess the starting point was that I didn't make it a relaxed landscape.。If I set it horizontally、② may have been more effective.。in conclusion：I once felt like it would be a waste if I didn't color the entire surface of my sketchbook.、It may be the root cause of all failures。“Stingy guts” is your downfall、I guess that means。Ahhh。
