「リハーサル」って、ひとことで言えば「予行演習」。本番とほぼ同じ内容を、本番の予定通りに実行すること。So、気になったことや、浮かんできた問題を、本番までに解決しておくための（最終）準備。音楽関係、演劇関係の人なら日常語だろうし、イベント関連の人もたぶんそうだろう。But、絵画や彫刻、版画の専門家などのあいだでは、聞いたことがない。せいぜい部分的な練習をする「習作」程度。

動画を作るようになって、わたしは「リハーサル」をするようになった（毎回ではない）。

「芸術は基本的に一期一会」、「一発勝負が本質」と思っているアーティスト（わたしも）にとっては、「予行演習」などお笑いネタに近いが、動画を作るという観点から見るリハーサルに大きな意味があることも解ってきた。but、それが「絵画」の制作動画を自分で作るとなると、心の中にある種の矛盾が生まれてくる。of course、動画にとって意味があると言っても、動画を作るすべての人がリハーサルをするわけではない。むしろ絵画同様「一発撮り」が基本だろう。

in the same way、ここ数年はエスキースもわりと真面目にするようになった。若い頃はエスキースをする前にもう作品が出来あがっていた。構想が次々と湧きあがり、体力もあったから思いついたら一直線にゴールした。寄り道したり、確かめたりもせず文字通りの「まっしぐら」。当然失敗もあり、改善すべき点もあったのだが、そこを修正するより勢いのまま次に行く方が何より楽しく、それが自然に思えた。
