昨日の試作2点。同じモデルさん。上はかなりラフに描いたものに、あとでオイルパステルなどを使って簡単な背景をつけてみた。下は意識してグラデーションなど使い、若干丁寧に描いたもの。
顔の向きも雰囲気も異なるので、一概に比べることはできないが、大きなタッチ（筆触）でザザッと描いた試作1の方が、なんだか伸び伸びしているように見えないだろうか。
Actually、一番下の写真を見れば想像できるように、試作２は細かいところに少し細めの筆を使っている。試作1では一本の太い筆だけ、試作２は二本の筆というわけ。筆を使い分けるくらいだから、当然色の重なりにも気を遣うことになる。「眼の周辺」に何度も薄い層が重なっているのが見えている。
水彩は「紙の白さが一番大事な色」とも言われる。試作１ではそれが生かされている、I wonder if that means that。2は逆光表現だからやむを得ないが、それだけ難易度が高く、かつ生き生きした感じが出しにくい、一般的に言えばあまり美味しくない視点だといえる。試作してみるといろいろなことが分かる。
やっとこさ、配信できました。一ヶ月以上かかってしまいました。そのぶん作り込んだというわけでもなく、むしろミスばっかり見えて、自分でも情けない。
最初は一週間もあれば、十分な時間だと思っていた。単純に「スケッチを楽しみましたあ」という動画でいいと思っていたから。編集し始めると「鉛筆の持ち方」だの「地平線の探し方」、「遠近法」等の補足説明が必要に思えてきて、別ビデオを作ったり、参考作品（写真）を探したり、一本の完全版のイメージに向かうようになってしまった。
タイトルの通り、素直にそれだけやればいいし、見る方だってそんな余分のことまで挿入されるのは迷惑する。Nevertheless、この無駄な“完璧主義？”は、我ながら、自家中毒なのではないかと思ってしまう。そちらは「ロングバージョン」としてそのままビデオにした。公表する機会はないかも知れないが、自分の愚を見るためにも保存しておいた（ため息）。
