in the classroom、テンペラと水彩のミックスのデモンストレーションをやってみることにした。上の絵はそのための試作。新しいことを覚えるには、ハードルはできるだけ低い方がいい。テンペラの歴史から始まって云々の、講義のようじゃ門の前で引き返してしまう。

テンペラというのは、油絵という技法ができる以前の古い技術で、鳥の卵とか、動物の乳や血など、乾いたら固まるタンパク質の性質を利用した絵の具と、それで描く技術のこと。日本ではタンパク質よりデンプンを利用した絵が発達したが、それも一種のテンペラといえるようです。
　この絵の支持体は厚めの水彩紙（たから結構波打っています）。そこに普通の水彩で、平面性を意識した “水彩画（下塗り）” を描く。地塗りはなし。

そこに明るい部分だけ、テンペラの白で（厚めに）塗る。テンペラは白以外使わない。顔料はチタニュウムホワイト。それを生卵で溶くだけでテンペラ絵の具ができる。簡単！ちなみに、普通の水彩絵の具を卵で溶いても “テンペラ” 化する。however、それは非常にもったいないことになってしまうので、おすすめはしない。

効果は①普通の水彩画に比べて厚みが感じられる　②特に人物の顔などには有用　など。欠点？としては①「滲み」という水彩独特の技法が使えない（ちょっと工夫が要る）②平面的になる（プラスの効果として使う）など。絵の具は手作りするので、チューブから絞り出すだけのものよりは、若干手間（3分ほど）だが、めちゃくちゃに安価というメリットもある。
