あの赤は太陽の光を浴びてこそ。だから室内に持ち込んだとたん、日当たりと陰とで作り出す鮮やかなコントラストが失われ、急に不機嫌に黙り込んだようにとげとげしい表情になるのである。But、これは冬の花（？）。野外でなど描いていられないという、人間側の事情がその不機嫌さの原因でもあるわけだ。
