Sand dune lake is a natural freshwater pond in a sandhill. It was shaped by wind. The wind had been carring sand and formed ups and downs, and then water stream into hollow places. It is not only very valuable existence itself in the world but also it gives important environment for biodeversity that’s being lost.

There are many dune lakes in Higashi-dori village. Named lakes are minimum 13s. Salugamori sandhill (1~2 km width, 17 km length) include the rear wetland in this village has selected one of 500 of the important wetland of Japan (Actually most of Shimokita peninsula is selected also). Additionaly, Shimokita sandhill (includ this Salugamori sandhill with the next ones) is really the biggest one in Japan. However almost all japanese don’t know of it. One of the reason is that this place is hidden from the roads by pine grove for protect the wind and the sand. The other one, here is off limited, because this ares has been useing for test site of trajectory of Ministry of Defence (MD).

These are out of the area of MD. A few lakes of it look as useing fishery sometimes but not often. Most of the roads to go there is being lost by growing thickly weeds and pine grove. Creasing depopulation and ageing there. Academic reserch stopped now.

一匹の毛虫が目の前の、２.５ｍばかりの幅のコンクリートの道を横断している。かなり急ぎ足？だ。それも当然、白い路面を真っ黒の毛虫が殆ど無防備状態で横断しているのだから。虫の体長を約５センチとして人間に換算すると、身長の５０倍だから１.７ｍ×５０＝８５ｍということになる。天敵からまる見え状態での横断は例えて言えば、ホオジロザメのいる海を８５ｍ泳いで渡るようなものだろうか。

There was a hairly catarpillar on the road. He just crossed the road about 2.5meters wide rapidly. Of course that was too risky way for him of its natural enemy like a bird. It was so distinguishded a black body on white concrete. If his height convert into a human, 2.5 meters will be 85 meters long. This crossing road was like swim across the sea acting great white shark for 85 meters, I wander.

毛虫のもともと居た側にも草や木はあり、ほぼ似たような環境に見える。危険を冒して道路を横断する、どんな必要性があるのだろうか。意志などという高尚なものなどある筈もない。しかし何かが彼（彼女か？）にその行動をさせたことは事実だ。何がそうさせるのか、ただ本能と言ってしまっては身も蓋もない。

On the side he had been was similar environment to the other, there’s a lot of trees and weed both. Why he wanted across the road ? What was necessity for him there? It is impossible that they have a free will. Although something mede him to do that is fact. What is it?

最近の脳科学によれば、われわれ人間の意志などというものも、実は非常に不確かなもので、○○しようと意識する０.５秒前には既に脳は決定を下していて、「意志」なるものはその追認を錯覚しているに過ぎないらしい（ひとつの有力な説）。そう考えると「意志などという高尚な」ものは人間にも無く、道を渡る毛虫と大差ないということになるだろう。

According to latest brain science, our human’s free will is doubtful actually. Our brain already decide everything before to be concious ourself less than 0.5 second. Our poor conciousness have an illusion that we identify ratification with our free will. So that means a catarpillar as same as human from the viewpoint of have not a will either.

そこで大事なことは「経験」である。経験を基にした、ある種の「感覚」。それが生き物には、つまりわれわれにも重要な意味を持っているということらしい。

An experience is important at end. The sense of sort that based on experiences, it looks important for every creature include of us.

I have been taking with tempera ,acrylc or oil to painting pictures for 40 years more. However, I have found able to enjoyed taking water colours than the other recently. Although I had retired from water colour painting since it was too difficult at my child days, I feel that I might get the way to handled various situation on water colour paintings. I think painting pictures with oil is easier for glowing artistic mind for children than the other. But most parents seem didn’t, because it must be dirty their cloth and room, heavy for them and expensive for parents etc. Besides most parents also wants to make their children to getting enter hi-level school is more important than the Arts for their children’s future.

I feel painting water colours is difficult a little for most children. I feel undarstand deeply with the people who have misundersgtanded of their poor hand to painting pictures and then quit it at the end. So I hope they will enjoy heartly in this time .
